Modern Front Garden

The front garden of this modern house was an uninspiring patch of turf and weeds trying to grow in tonnes of clay and builders' rubble. The only answer was to remove the clay and import decent topsoil.

The young winter flowering cherry which had been planted in the centre of the lawn was found a new home in a much larger garden. If it had been allowed to grow to full height, it would have dominated the garden and blocked out most of the sunlight.

Once all the earthworks were completed a strong geometric design was implemented softened by lush planting in hot colours

More photographs of our finished gardens will be added soon when the new planting has had time to establish.
